Miami By Foot

We spent a delightful day in Miami with Jennifer and Gui and the title of today's post describes our day. We walked and we walked and we walked. We walked almost 15 miles.

After breakfast we walked from the Hotel over to the Intercontinental located just a couple of blocks from Bayside. It was chilly when we left our hotel with temperatures in the high 40's but it felt even cooler taking into account the wind chill factor. We each wore our fleece jackets. We then took a taxi cab from the Intercontinental over to South Beach. We then walked all around South Beach looking at all of the interesting facades of the buildings and everything else that was all around us from people, to cafes to the ocean. We walked on the beach a couple of times and the second time around Jennifer put her feet in the water. We spent several hours walking around South Beach and the adjoining areas. It was wonderful.

Afterwards we took a Taxi Cab back to the Intercontinental and from there we walked over to Bayside which has many restaurants and stores. We had lunch over there and then we decided we wanted to continue to walk so we walked to and then over the bridge over to the Miami Cruise Ship terminal. We saw at least six passenger ships in port but there might have been more. This certainly was a busy day for the cruise ship terminal. We then walked back across the bridge and around some areas of the city and then returned back to the hotel.

A couple of hours later it was time for another walk as we walked from the Hotel over to the restaurant for dinner. During this walk we took a path that was off the bay so we could enjoy the nice scenery. We all enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Tomorrow, we look forward to the arrival of Eric and Kara.
